25/3/11 - The new umbrella brand "Education In Ireland" was launched in Dublin yesterday, to be used for the marketing of the Irish higher education and English Language sectors internationally. While welcoming the new brand as offering a fresh modern image of Ireland, ICOS Director, Sheila Power, was anxious that Ireland take a measured approach when it comes to increasing the numbers of international students coming to study here.
“The new Education In Ireland tag line 'world class standards, warmest of welcomes' could soon come back to haunt us if we do not put the same investment and effort in support services for international students as we are now applying to our marketing efforts,” said Ms Power.
As well as creating a new brand, the International Education Strategy 2010-15 contains a commitment to establish a Quality Mark for institutions operating in the sector and ICOS hopes there will not be any delays in its implementation.
