English Language Schools - A guide for international students

I would like to come to learn English in Ireland. What is my next step?

To study English for a short or a longer period the best thing to do is to contact a recognised language school. Please note that the maximum time a non-EEA student may stay in Ireland for the purpose of attending courses at language/non degree level is limited to three years

If you are a non-EEA citizen, your course must be recognised by the Irish Government if you also aim to work part-time in Ireland while you study.

MEI-RELSA

This is the largest grouping of recognised English as a Foreign Language (EFL) schools in Ireland. Their website contains details of courses available.

ACELS

As part of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) is responsible for promoting high standards in English Language teaching and ensuring that these are maintained. View the ACELS list of recognised schools.
