The Garda National Immigration Bureau is set to increase the registration fee for the GNIB Card
The fee for each GNIB Certificate of Registration (GNIB Card), for students in the state longer than 90 days, will increase from €100 to €150 with effect from 00:00 on Saturday 23rd August 2008.
Special Student Only Opening Hours
In order to facilitate those taking up or returning to study in September 2008, the GNIB registration desk will open on Saturdays from 27 September until November 8 inclusive (except October 25 due to the Bank Holiday Weekend).
The opening hours are 10.00am to 4.00pm although closing times may vary according to demand. If student demand continues to be high consideration will be given to extend Saturday opening times beyond November 8.
Please note that these extra dates are to facilitate students only and that all other registrations must take place during normal opening times (Monday to Friday). If students wish to register during normal office hours (Monday to Friday) they can do so only after 9am.
Usual opening hours for students are from 9.30.am to 10.pm. Monday - Thursday & 9.30 am to 4pm Friday.

Outside the DMR the Registration Officer is the local Superintendent and you should register at your local Garda Síochána District Headquarters Station.
