Work Permits – changes announced

15/4/09 - The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) has announced some changes to the work permit regime which could impact on non-EEA graduates applying for Green Cards with further restrictions to the eligible jobs list.

There are also new conditions regarding labour market tests for Work Permit applications and also the imposition of fees and labour market tests for spousal/dependents of work permit holders after 1 June, 2009. This latter rule will affect non-EEA Researchers under hosting agreements who intend to travel with their spouses and where those spouses have an interest in working in Ireland.
